According to the latest edition of the Mining Statistical Bulletin, this figure transferred to the member governments of the Southern Macroregion includes the regions of Apurímac, Arequipa, Cusco, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna.
The statistical document specifies that only in the transfers by mining canon for these regions a figure of more than S/ 3,667 million was reached, an amount that is directed to subnational governments for the execution of public works in various sectors, for the benefit of the population. .
Likewise, transfers for the concept of legal and contractual mining royalties between January and November 2022 totaled more than S/ 1,269 million, a situation that was encouraged by the high prices of metals in the first half of the year, which generated higher profits. for mining companies and the payment of more taxes.

Regions that received more resources
Among the regions that are members of the Southern Macroregion that received the most resources, Arequipa is in first place with more than S/ 1,485 million; followed by Tacna with more than S/ 1,136 million; in third place, Moquegua with a figure that exceeds S/ 769 million; and in fourth place Cusco with more than S/ 694 million, among others.
The Minem highlights that the resources generated by the mining activity constitute a source of financing for the regional and municipal governments, since it allows them to execute public projects, with the purpose of improving the quality of life of its citizens and especially of the communities that They are located in the areas surrounding the mining projects.
